Think Pink!

Okay so since Valentine's Day is approaching I felt the need to do a set on Polyvore with an appropriate theme for the occasion: Pink!! When searching pink items up on Polyvore I came across some amazing finds! Pink is my favorite color, so I guess I'm a goner for it anyway, but these dresses and other pieces are gorgeous aren't they!! My favorite is the center pink strapless dress with the bow!! So precious! It's labeled as "a unique boutique sequin dress-Very". Too bad the price tag is $280!!! A girl came dream though!!

Items in this set:
Just Cavalli Stretch-satin corset dress, $520
MANOLITA WATLIN STRAPLESS SILK DRESS PINK SILK -, 295 GBP
Vila Bjork Dress, 16 GBP
Unique Boutique sequin dress - Very, 175 GBP
V-Neck Flex Tee - Teen Clothing by Wet Seal, $9.50

The Dior pallet is beautiful as well! And those sunglasses are fun! You don't have to be head to toe in pink, but even adding a little bit to your outfit for Valentine's day won't hurt you!!

What do you think? What do you like from the set?? Even if you aren't all into pink there has to be something here you might wear? Let me know! Also, while we are on the topic of Valentine's Day are any of you doing anything special for the big day?

2010 SAG AWARDS

So the 2010 SAG Awards had a great turnout of beautiful gowns! Here are just a select few that caught my eye!! Kate Hudson looks amazing above in that stunning white gown with an open back! Don't you agree??

Lea Michele looks gorgeous below in that impressive shade of green! She keeps surprising me with what she's been wearing to award shows, it's so much different than what I'm used to seeing on her in Glee, she really is quite beautiful!

I think Meryl Streep looks amazing for her age? Doesn't this dress with a fitted belt flatter her so well? I don't know about the sunglasses though. It does look bright out there, but I think she would have looked better without them.

I think Drew Barrymore looks so pretty! Her hair and her makeup look very natural and she has a nice glow to her!

Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson look like a nice pair don't they?? The shape of that dress is simply dazzling!

So which one of these women look the best to you?? Even though I think they look pretty maybe some of these choices aren't that spectacular in you eyes? Let me know what you think. I always value your opinions!! Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful day!!

Chanel Spring 2010 Couture!

Oh, Chanel, gorgeous Chanel!
Have you seen the Spring 2010 Couture collection for Chanel? It has absolutely beautiful spring shades throughout the whole collection!!

Karl Lagerfeld said this concerning the collection, "an electronic flash in my head at five o'clock one morning. Silver and pastel," he said. "It's the first time in my whole career I've done a collection without black or navy. There's not one gold button."

Take a look at these beauties!
The Suits:

The Dresses:

Karl Lagerfeld himself at the end of the show

I adore pastel shades and I think all the colors used in this collection are absolutely breathtaking! The bows the girls are wearing in their hair are fun and very girlie! What do you think about this new collection? Do you like that he took a different approach and left the black and navy behind? Do you think the colors are perfect for spring? Or do you wish something was different about the set??

To check out the other items just click on the set! Kirsten Stewart has this rough type of glamor going for her! Her style has really evolved since she has become a bigger celebrity. She's embraced becoming more girly and dressing up in beautiful dresses but she still has that tough feel to it. A smoky, mysterious attitude. It's nice to see her not completely change into what the media is used to seeing. She's kept her edge!!

What do you think about the set? Do you like any of the items featured in this set? Do you embrace your tough side? Or maybe your girly side if your more like Kirsten Stewart to begin with? Or is that a side of you people hardly ever see?

Taylor Swift Straightening Up

So girls, have you seen Taylor Swift's new straight hair do? When I saw the picture below I didn't even recognize her!! I am so envious of her hair!! Not only does the new straight look, look amazing, but the blonde highlights, look gorgeous!! That's how I wish my hair actually looked!! Who knew Taylor would look that different with just a straightened style???

I've never heard anything bad said about Taylor Swift. You never hear any scandals tied to her. All I hear is how loyal of a friend she is, and how big of a heart she has. I think she is actually a great role model for young girls these days! She never shows too much skin, and her songs aren't about, well to be blunt, sex, there just about real life issues, written and song in a beautiful mature and wholesome way. Let's applaud Taylor Swift and hope that young girls follow suit!

What do you think about her being a good role model? What do you think about her new hairstyle?? Let your opinions be heard on The Hot Spot!

Blonde Vs. Brunette

It's one of the oldest debates out there. Blonde vs. Brunette. Do blondes really have more fun? Are brunettes taken more seriously? These questions and many others surround the never ending debate! Below I have found several pictures of celebrities who have lived life as a blonde and then taken a turn to the dark side or vise versa. I want to know what you think. Do you prefer blonde or brunette on these well known stars?

Rachel McAdams:
I think she is a naturally gorgeous girl! She usually looks amazing! I think I prefer her as a blonde though. Doesn't that shade look fabulous on her?

Nicole Richie:

I think Nicole can actually pull off both shades. Thankfully she has long gotten past those nasty looking dreads! They just did not look right on her! She has come a long way!

Kim Kardashian:
She also looks great either way. The darker shade warms up her complexion and the blonde is a pretty shade

Fergie:
Maybe it's just this picture but here the dark shade looks too harsh on Fergie! I think I prefer her as a blonde!

Katherine McPhee:
She has made a drastic change, not only with her hair color, but with chopping off her very long hair! I'm not really sure what I think about this yet. It really did shock me though the first time I saw her new look!

Katherine Heigl:

I think Katherine loves to play around with her hair color! She always has it different hues! I don't think I've seen a shade that looked bad on her yet. I think she can pull off many looks when it comes to hair color!

Drew Barrymore:
She looks very pretty with both of these shades. She has definitely become more refined in the past decade with her look. She usually looks very classy at award shows these days. Also, I just love the volume her hair has in the blonde picture!

Cameron Diaz:
Most of her life she has lived it as a blonde, but in the past few years she has switched things up a bit with darker shades here and there. She looks gorgeous either way. I think the darker shade brings out her beautiful color of her eyes!

Ashley Tisdale:
I loved it when Ashley switched to a brunette! I never thought her blonde hair looked bad at all, but to me, her darker shade looks amazing!

So, that wraps it up with celebrity pictures on this post. What do you girls think? It seems that a lot of celebrities can pull of almost any look. Maybe they can because they have the most amazing hair stylists at their disposal? I wish I was only as lucky!! If that were the case, I would changed my hair color all the time! And getting extensions, or chopping my hair into one of those cute longer version bobs!! Endless possibilities!!

Also, let me know what you like most on yourself? If you've ever done drastic things to your hair, and how you liked the results? I hope you girls have a wonderful day!!

COSMETIC CLEANUP!

The topic is makeup! I know you girls have makeup! Most of you know a thing or two about it I know that’s for sure! But do you know how long is too long to keep some of your most beloved cosmetics?? There’s a time limit on how long you should keep most cosmetics. There’s a time when you need to stop using them and toss them out! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then today is your lucky day! The Hot Spot is going to fill you in on what you need to know!

Lip gloss

picture: www.covergirl.com

sadly after only 3 months of opening your lip gloss you need to toss it! I think this is the hardest one for me. I buy lip gloss all the time, and have tons, so I only use one kind in particular every so often. I always switch up which lip gloss I’m using at the time, but never actually finish the tube! Also, lip gloss with a wand applicator is the quickest to go. The tube type applicator may be able to be kept a little longer. Thank goodness!

Lipstick

picture: www.meetmark.com

surprisingly lipstick can be kept for up to one year! So that’s reassuring! Although, I hardly wear lipstick, but I’m sure many of you do!

Mascara

picture: www.meetmark.com

it’s crucial for you to throw this out after 3 months, you don’t want to mess around with growing bacteria in the tube, and then applying that bacteria to your eyes!! Could result in some dangerous problems!

Eye Shadows:

picture: www.weheartit.com

Cream eye shadow- 3 months

Powder eye shadow- since it’s powder it can last up to 1 year

Foundation:

picture: www.sheerbalance.com

depends on if its oil or water based

Water based foundation- keep no longer than 6 months

Oil based foundation- will be good for at least 1 year, could possibly be kept up to 18 months!

So, I bet some of you have some cleaning out to do! Just look at it this way, since you have to get rid of some of your makeup it gives you a reason to go out and buy some new stuff!! Who doesn’t like buying new cosmetics? Keep in mind how long things will last when you are out and about buying new items though. You probably won’t need a lot of one particular item since you may not be able to go through so much before it’s time to toss it out!

I hope this was helpful! I know I learned a lot when I first heard about the life spans of my cosmetics!

Also, I want to know what makeup you girls most regularly buy/use? What’s your favorite lipstick, lip gloss? And all the other makeup items mentioned? Fill me in!!!

Have a wonderful day girls!

Lady Gaga, Enough Said!

Here are some recent pictures of Lady Gaga. Really the pictures say enough, I don't have to say much more do I? haha

I love her music, it's so fun and gets stuck in my head all the time. Her outfits on the other hand, are, well, out of my comfort zone. However, I do love how absolutely creative and unique she is with all her wardrobe! And not many people can pull off what she does!

Sometimes, she surprises me and she looks quite cute nothing too out of the ordinary, like pictured below, but this is rare!!!

Her shade of blonde is fabulous too!

What do you think of Lady Gaga? Do you envy her style or think it's crazy? Or know it's silly, but still think it's kind of fun? Also, what's your favorite song of hers? Right now, Paparazzi is my ringtone.

Well, hope you're having a wonderful weekend!!

Vote Now! Who Wore It Better??

Let me know what you girls think! Let your voices be heard in a little
Who Wore It Better Post!

Jessica Stroup VS. Marion Cotillard

Well, since I'm already a big fan of Jessica's Style, she gets my vote!
Marion does look very pretty though!

Kim Cattrall Vs. Miley Cryus

Ok, so although they have different necklaces, they are wearing the exact same dress, and boots too! Usually shoes are different! lol I'm actually not sure what this was for, but I can't imagine they did this on purpose, so how odd they would be almost identical! The dress is stunning though. I think Miley looks better in this outfit, but I really don't think at her age she should be showing that much cleavage! What do you think?

Ashley Tisdale Vs. Nicky Hilton

My vote goes to Ashley, I just love her with the brown hue! The little black jacket looks great paired with the dress too!

Well, that's all for now girls! I hope you enjoyed this post of who wore it better and that your week has gone well so far!!

New Year, New You!

So now that we are a couple weeks into the new year, how is everybody doing on their New Year's Resolutions? Are you still hanging in there? By now, many people have already ditched their resolutions and have gone back to their old ways. It's hard to continue sometimes, I'm sure most of us have not always reached are goal, whatever it may be. Whether it's to lose weight, get in shape, quit a bad habit, like smoking, etc., or improving oneself in other forms, like working on their personalty with how patient they may be, or outgoing and such things like that, it's tough to stay committed. Did any of you start the New Year with resolutions of your own? If so, how is it going for you? Let me know, I'd love to hear.

I do have an idea though, something that may be easier for you girls to change/improve about yourself, but only if you feel the need to! I think it would be easy for most us to say that in the new year we would love to try something new with our style! Might I suggest to you, to try something new within your wardrobe in this New Year! There are simple ways of changing/improving one's style, and help you feel like you've done something fabulous with 2010!!

Is there is trend that you are scared to try? Is their a hairstyle that you are dying to have? Do you want to be more creative with the outfits you put together? You can do it!!! I myself, am trying to switch up my wardrobe a bit.

Here's some ways for you to make simple easy changes within your wardrobe:

1. Add a pop of color!
Are you a girl that normally sticks to blacks, grays, browns, etc.? Get out of that blah rut and add a piece or accessory that pops against your existing wardrobe. You don't have to buy much to make this work. You can simply wear clothes from what you have in your closet already, just go out and buy one piece, whether it be a bright colored scarf, or a fun colored pair of sunglasses, or if your even bolder, try a bold colored top instead of that black colored shirt you tend to wear. Simple, easy, affordable!

2. Try Some Tights/leggings!
Are you scared to purchase a pair of floral tights? Or an animal printed pair of leggings? Do you love how those leathery pair of leggings look on women you've seen in the latest magazines? Try it out for yourself! You can pull it off, most women can, in one way or another! If you are going to try a bold patterned pair of leggings or tights, try to pair it with a simple solid colored dress or black type outfit, that way you don't have too much going on at once, and your leggings/tights can be the stand out piece! Those leathery leggings look great with a simple tee and blazer! Don't forget those stylish booties or heels with those!

3. Blast From The Past

Tired of what's considered "in" right now? Want to set yourself apart from others? Here's an easy way to do just that! Look at the style icons from the past. Now, some may not be that appropriate to model after, but there are some wonderful examples out there of stylish women from previous decades, that would still be considered well-dressed today. An obvious example is the lovely Audrey Hepburn. I'm sure you guessed I was going to mention her! But, I mean, how could I not? Anyway, if you are looking to get away from the trends of today, look back into previous trends. I myself, am going to try to wear more classy lady like clothes. I don't dress scandalous now or anything, but I'm going to take it a step further. Back in Audrey's day, the women looked so elegant and well put together. More often than not they wore amazing sheath type dresses, or other fun classic looking outfits! Trying to emulate Audrey and making it your own, you really can't go wrong.

www.modcloth.com has some great vintage pieces to help you with your goal!

Well, I hope these are helpful ideas for you in this new year. If you have any other suggestions for great style in 2010, leave them in a comment! I'm sure you all have fabulous ideas that we would all love to hear! I know there are many other ways one can amp up their style in 2010, so let's help each other out!!

Oh, and remember, just because something may be in style right this moment, doesn't mean you have to try it!!! Like this below, found on www.elle.com. I don't like what she's wearing, and it most definitely will not work on everyone, so do beware of that!
